Privacy Policy

ANCCONNECT LIMITED ("we") runs ANCCONNECT Subtitles. This policy explains what personal data we collect and why, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Contact: info@anconnect.com.ng.

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and when you confirmed you are 18 or older and accepted our terms.
• Subtitle files: the files you upload and their translations.
• Payments: plan, amount, date and the payment reference; for bank transfers, also the name on the account you paid from. When you pay by card, Flutterwave handles your card details; we never see or store them.
• Technical data: IP address and basic server logs, used to keep the service secure.

Why we use it

• To provide the service you signed up for (contract).
• To take payments and keep accounting records (contract and legal obligation).
• To protect accounts from abuse, for example by limiting sign-in attempts (legitimate interest).

Who we share it with

• Google (Gemini API) translates the text of your subtitles. We currently use Google's free service. Under Google's terms for it, Google may use the text we send and its translation to improve its products, and people working for Google may read them. Please upload film and TV subtitles only, with no personal or confidential information.
• Flutterwave processes card payments, when you pay by card.
• Our email and hosting providers, to run the service.

Google receives only the subtitle text (and, on the Pro plan, your word list), never your name, email address or payment details.

We do not sell your data. Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria, with the safeguards the law requires.

How long we keep it

• Subtitle files and translations: 7 days, or less if you delete them.
• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, object to its use, or delete your account at any time from the Account page. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
